Here are some of the photographs taken of the Scott children, but using the white backdrop as opposed to the ‘Urban’ backdrop. It gives a more simpler and cleaner feel to photographs.

At the end of April, I photographed a family friend’s children. It was a morning of fun and allowed me to try out a recently acquired backdrop and new camera equipment. One of these new acquisitions is the new double sided ‘Urban’ backdrop from Lastolite. I was looking to use the backdrop together with a narrowly focused light source to create shadows on the backdrop creating a more atmospheric look to the more usual clean portraits I have done in the past. Here are some of the examples from the photoshoot.

Yesterday I did a photoshoot for some family friends in Bristol. I photographed five children/teenagers during the afternoon, experimenting with a new urban backdrop I’ve recently acquired as well as some plain white background shots. The shoot lasted about three hours. Here is just a few photos of Jess using one of the new urban backdrops… the backdrop is very photo-realistic and I think it looks awesome, a nice change from the usual black and white backdrops I’ve used in the past. Over the next week I shall be reviewing the photos taken during the day and will then later post a collection of photos. In the meantime here’s a few of Jess’ photos.

In 2010, I was asked by friends to photograph their wedding. It was a beautiful sunny day which made for a glorious occasion. When photographing a wedding I like to capture the whole day, photographing the preparations in the morning, the ceremony and then the evening festivities. My approach if often reportage/documentary wedding photography mixed with the standard formal shots expected from a wedding. Here are a few example photographs from day:

In 2011, I was asked to photograph five lovely ladies. A birthday surprise organised for one of them by her friends. The phootshoot lasted about four hours, with dress changes, group shoots and Individual shots with the hosts laying on a buffet and champaign throughout the afternoon. Here are some of the photos taken during the photoshoot.
